Horsens: Horsens oozes of good collaborative projects and one of them is called "International Song Contest Horsens".
20 singers are ready to demonstrate their vocal skills to each other, to the audience and to the judging panel. The competition element is toned down, because the real strength of the project is that it's a great opportunity for both singers, musicians and everyone else to meet at crossroads of nationalities, age groups and other groupings and just be together for the music, that by the way will be played 100% live with two additional backing bands.
The project originated in 2016 due to the fact that Horsens was named host city of Melodi Grand Prix 2016 and MGP 2016, and in addition to the musical approach, it was also intended to mark Horsens as an international city.
What emerged as a spontaneous idea turned out to catch on, especially among the international citizens in the municipality, and therefore the initiative will be repeated in 2017 - not least on the basis of many requests for it.
The event is based on a high degree of voluntary commitment and crosswise cooperation and there's a major ambition that International Song Contest in Horsens will help create unity, maintain and expand the musical horizons of citizens in Horsens, regardless of origin.
The evening's host will be Assia Zouaoui, and co-hosts are last year's winners; not Lighthouse X, but Horsens' own winners - Patricia and Vitalia Villadsen.
The group of organizers consists of KulisseLageret, Det Gule Pakhus, VIA University College, DSR / Student Council and Horsens All Stars, and prizes are sponsored by Horsens & Friends.
The project will furthermore be held as a part of International Festival in Horsens.
The concert will take place at KulisseLageret.
The doors open at 19.30 o'clock, and the music starts at. 20:00.
There is free entrance.
