Horsens Ny Teater now offers the local dance enthusiasts to experience one of the real ballet classics, Tchaikovsky’s ”Swan Lake”.

It will take place on February 1st, Wednesday, when the Russian National Ballet takes a trip from Moscow to Horsens.

Dance Performances are nothing new for the theater but the local theater society has had them mostly as part of its program. It is not the same with ”Swan Lake” - here the cultural center cooperates with German Highlight Concerts.

Evil sorcery
”Swan Lake” is appreciated for its beautiful music and dance, the brilliant costumes and for the adventurous action concerning the prince, who falls for the beautiful Odette. But before they get married, Odette should free herself from the evil sorcery hanging over her life.

And the Russian National Ballet? Yes, it should not be confused with the world famous Bolshoi Ballet but there are still connections. The Russian National Ballet is founded and is artistically directed by Sergei Radsjenkov, who has been a solo dancer of Bolshoi Ballet, and for 25 years a partner on stage of one of the ballet’s big names Maya Plisetskaya.

Today the Russian National Ballet has its own schools with more than 70 dancers and internationally recognized names as teachers.

Horsens Ny Teater has launched the ticket sale.

JCI Horsens International with Horsens Folkeblad and supported by Horsens Kommune is behind the project Horsens in English.

Horsens is an international city with around 115 different nationalities living here. There are many reasons why people leave their home countries and become expats. It is to use the opportunities created by the common market in Europe, finding new job, going for studies or maybe to be with other family members who are already living abroad.

Whatever your reasons, you mustnt live in vacuum, even if you dont know the language of this country. You need the information about the life around you.

Horsens in English is an online project aiming to give newcomers access to the information about the town, to catch you up on current events and things that are happening around. We would like to give you more knowledge about Horsens, its most popular sights, people and organisations etc. We want to be not just the mirror reflecting important events for the area we serve, but would like to make the community dialogue, to share the stories of local people and internationals. In fact, Horsens in English is a voice that truly echoes the life of our community, to make you feel at home.
